Attorney Barry J. Waldman, Esq.


Barry Waldman is the member-owner of Waldman & Associates, PLLC. He has over 20 years of experience to bring to your case.

Mr. Waldman was the Son of a Navy family and was born at the Keflavik Naval Air Station, Keflavik, Iceland. His family moved soon thereafter to Virginia Beach, Virginia, where Mr. Waldman grew up and graduated from Princess Anne High School. Barry attended the University of Virginia and graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Urban Planning. Mr. Waldman was active in the Inter-Fraternity Council, was an editorialist for a college newspaper, and a morning drive-time DJ for a radio station. Upon graduation Mr. Waldman worked as an account representative for a major textile manufacturer, serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Under Mr. Waldman's management, sales grew in his territory by over 400%.

Mr. Waldman attended law school at the University of Richmond’s School of Law in Richmond, Virginia. While there, he served as President of the school's chapter of the American Bar Association, participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic and published two scholarly articles. Mr. Waldman served as the Manuscripts Editor for the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology, the first law journal published exclusively online.

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Waldman commenced his legal career as an associate attorney with a law firm located in Fairfax, Virginia. In 2000 Mr. Waldman relocated his practice to Spotsylvania and began to focus his practice on Individual Services.

In 2005 Mr. Waldman formed his own law firm, Waldman & Associates, PLLC, serving individuals in the Fredericksburg Area. Mr. Waldman has represented thousands of clients in the Fredericksburg Region, focusing on Divorce, Family Law and Custody and vVisitaion related issues.

Barry has served his community as a Member and Chairman of the Architectural Review Board of the City of Fredericksburg, as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals of the City of Fredericksburg, as Chairman of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Fredericksburg Program, as a Member of the Board of Directors for Rappahannock Goodwill Inc., and has served both the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association and Virginia State Bar in leadership positions.

Attorney Daniel G. Turczan, Esq.


Dan Turczan graduated Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law with concentrations in financial transactions and public benefits law. While in school he participated in international moot court competitions. Additionally, he engaged in clinical outreach work on behalf of underprivileged communities in western New York, with a focus on building generational wealth to prevent poverty.

The tragic events of 9/11 occurred while Dan was studying law. Having been born and raised in New York City, this incident struck him deeply. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served four years in the Marines as an Infantry Machine gunner, rising to the position of squad leader by his third deployment.

Finding himself in Virginia with a wife and family after the completion of his service Dan interned with the Fredericksburg Public Defender’s office while also studying for the Bar exam. After passing the Bar he worked for over ten years with Legal Aid Works in the fields of Landlord-Tenant law, consumer defense, unemployment compensation, and family law. Dan initiated and managed that firm’s Eviction Diversion Program, ultimately assisting hundreds of Virginians in avoiding eviction. He was part of federal litigation that obtained unemployment benefits for thousands of Virginians during the Covid-19 epidemic.

Dan’s experience as lead counsel on litigation from simple to complex is a real asset to Waldman & Associates. His practice will focus on areas of Custody, Visitation and Support.
